November comes, and Greg's Phys Ed teacher, Mr. Underwood, announces that the students will be starting a wrestling. Greg is disappointed, because he is a small kid for his age and knows nothing about wrestling. What embarrassments does Greg come into contact with and how does he respond to them?

Greg tries to press his parents to buy him some serious exercise equipment and weight powder, so Greg can become a better wrestler. Greg's mom thinks it is an extreme request, but Greg's dad is on board with certain caveats. Why does Greg's dad support Greg, even though it is a financially impulsive decision, and what is the outcome?

The school play begins as planned, and Greg acts like a fool instead of following the script. Greg's family is in the audience, and on their way out of the school, Greg's mom throws a bouquet of flowers into the trash. Is Greg's mom justified in throwing the flowers out? Why or why not?
