If Dickinson were alive today, would she have twittered? Have students create a Twitter page for Dickinson. Using her style, create tweets for the page.

Blog

Give students an opportunity outside of class to create a web page or blog dedicated to Dickinson and her poetry. If possible, share this work with the class in a presentation.

Dickinson Playlist

If Dickinson existed today, what music would she listen to? Have students create a playlist of music the poet might have listened to if she lived today, taking into account her major themes and subjects.

Write a Song

Students can take one of the themes of Dickinson's poems and write a song around the same theme.

Rewrite a Poem

Taking their own style into play, students are to rewrite one of the poems from the collection. Students should focus on the poem's subject and themes.
