The book, A Christmas Memory, was based on Truman Capote's life. Truman Capote became a well known writer. How do you think his childhood experiences contributed to his outcome as a human being? Obviously Truman's cousin influenced him for the better, but what other characters do you think shaped Truman into the eventual adult he would become? How did these character's influence Truman's future?

In A Christmas Memory, Truman talks about the scrapbooks that he and the woman keep. He mentions that the items in the scrapbooks make them feel connected. Name two items found in the scrapbook and how they "connect" the woman and Truman to the world. What other things in the story seem to connect the woman and Truman to the world that they don't really know? How? Do you think Truman wants to see more of the world? Why or why not?
