Essay Topic 1

During A Christmas Memory the woman's name is never mentioned. Why do you think Truman never mentioned the name of his cousin? Do you think it took away or added to the story? Why? Name one person you know that could replace the woman in the story and why you think they are comparable. Name the similarities and differences between your friend and the woman.

Essay Topic 2

Who is your favorite character in A Christmas Memory? What benefits does this character bring to the story? Without this character in the story, how would things be different? Name some things that might remain the same if this character did not exist.

Essay Topic 3

Truman and the woman are similar in many ways but they do have some distinguishable differences. Compare and contrast the two characters in detail. Explain their relationship and how they each affect the other characters in the book.
