1) Library research: Have students research the biography genre. What are the characteristics of a biography? What is the difference between a biography and an autobiography? Why is Chanel and Her World considered a biography and not an autobiography? Have students write an essay on what makes Chanel and Her World a biography.

2) Presentation: Using the research from #1, have students prepare a short presentation on a) what makes Chanel and Her World a biography and b) what the author's purpose is when writing a biography.
