Draw the Characters

Give students time in class to draw a sketch of the characters, what they are wearing, etc. Artistic ability is less important than seeing that they grasp the general idea of their appearance.

Movie Day

There have been two films released by the name Boesman & Lena. The original stars Athol Fugard as Boesman, and the recent film adaptation stars Danny Glover. Give students an opportunity to see some of the scenes in class.

Write a Character History

Choose a character from the play and describe that character's childhood. How many siblings did they have? Where did they live? How might it have led to who they are now?

Write and Unwritten Scene
