Period hair fashion

Find a wig in a thift shop. Look up online a "recipe" for hair powder. As closely as possible, follow the recipe and come to class as Sir Leceister's servant, Mercury.

As an alternative, create a "bag wig" as described in Chapter 3 as being worn by someone in the legal profession. You may have to look this up online or at the library to understand how it is created.

Screenplay

Write a screenplay of a chapter from Bleak House, using modern ideas and characters. Have class members act out the scene.

Visual Bleak House

Rent the video of Bleak House and offer a screening for students who have already read the book. Have a student introduce the movie and tell a little about the book, and how it differs from the movie.
