Socrates Fortlow

He was introduced to violence at an early age by his abusive father. Once his father passed away, he and his mother lost there home and often went without meals.

Darryl

He is a 14-year-old boy on a path to trouble. He is hungry for food, guidance and love. Under the circumstances, the odds are stacked against him.

Right Burk

He is an elderly man whose injuries from war have left him partially paralyzed. He lives in a retirement home of sorts in the same poverty stricken neighborhood that Socrates lives in.

Theresa

She suffered mentally every time Socrates came to her battered and bruised. Although she tried to get Socrates to straighten up his life, she was unsuccessful.
