Punic Wars. Silius Italicus came from a wealthy senatorial family and held senatorial offices himself, including the consulate in 68 C.E., followed by a governorship in Asia Minor circa 77 C.E. He died circa 100 C.E. He is remembered for his Punka, a long epic that recounts the Punic Wars.
