Time Window Overview

Time Window by Kathryn Reiss is a middle-grade novel. When Miranda's parents decide to move from New York City to a small town in Massachusetts, the 13-year-old protagonist is excited to meet the new neighbors and sign up for eighth grade. However, she finds a strange dollhouse in her new home that allows her to witness events that occurred in the past. As the weeks pass by, a supernatural presence seems to infect Miranda's family members. In order to save herself and her loved ones, Miranda must solve a decades-old mystery. The novel explores obsession, isolation, abuse, oppression, and the impact of history on the present.
