Summary

In Chapter 11, Sierra goes to the Christmas parade with Devon and Heather. As they wait for Devon to get them coffee, Heather points out that Caleb is sitting with his friends across the street. Sierra walks toward Caleb and notices a boy in a band uniform and a girl in a cheerleader uniform getting out of a car nearby. When someone calls the boy by his name, Jeremiah, Caleb looks up. Caleb continues to look at Jeremiah as he walks past the bench where Caleb is sitting. Jeremiah looks at Caleb, and Sierra senses a sadness in both of them. She also sees that the cheerleader, apparently Jeremiah’s sister, grabs Jeremiah’s elbow to move him past Caleb.

After Caleb says goodbye to his friends, Sierra asks who the band member was. Caleb explains it was Jeremiah, his old friend. Sierra asks...
