Summary

In Chapter 37, the entire family is at Nancy and Bradley’s house for dinner. Daisy has graciously accepted the invitation, and when she arrives, Andy takes her on a tour of the house. While in the Bizarro Room, Daisy comments about how she is not surprised that Nancy has left his room the same because “That’s what her kind of politics is all about, right? The past is this sacred, glorified thing? Even though it never really existed in the first place” (213).

At dinner, Gina tries to engage Daisy in conversation, even when the atmosphere becomes tense. Nancy eventually reveals that Daisy’s real name is Stephanie Fitzgerald and that her father gave Stephanie $185,000 and wrote her into the will. Stephanie/Daisy tries to defend herself by explaining that she was nothing more than a friend to Henry when everyone else abandoned...
