Summary

Chapter 17 begins with Andy in Mrs. DiGiacomo’s room as she microwaves them Hot Pockets; they are watching The Young and the Restless. Andy spent the night on the floor of his grandfather’s suite and was wandering the halls looking for coffee when Mrs. DiGiacomo found him. They talk about his grandfather and how he taught her about baseball and also about how Daisy does not look like his sister.

Andy eventually heads back to the suite to find his mother watching Sean Hannity. After he asks a question, she pauses the program and answers as if he had been speaking to her instead of Ann Coulter. When Andy tries to leave, he draws attention to himself. He realizes at that moment that he misses his old mom—who had been rounder and brunette.
