Chapter 32 Summary

Gramps barrels through Wyoming, and Sal keeps hearing the whisper to hurry. It is late when they arrive at Yellowstone. They stay at the Old Faithful Inn in a Frontier Cabin. Gram is so excited about seeing Old Faithful the next morning that she can't sleep. Her grandparents talk about the egg man. Gram once received a love letter from him, which is the only love letter she's ever received. She put it under the mattress, and Gramps nearly killed him over the letter. Gram wants Sal to tell her about what happened next with Phoebe.

When Sal discovers the picture, she runs out of the office. She sees Sergeant Bickle but no Phoebe, so she runs all the way to her house. As she passes Mrs. Cadaver's house, she sees her all dressed up. Then Mr. Birkway pulls up. He didn't know that they were neighbors...
