Keyes reads the newspaper and the story about the suicide of Cabal who hanged himself with a piece of I V hose. Another story on the front page by Ricky Bloodworth states that Cabal was "guilty as sin" and got what he deserved. The third story he notes is a small one which tells of the kidnapping of Renee LeVoux, a tourist visiting from Canada.
