Chapter 8 Summary

Viceroy and his partner, Jesus Bernal, a Cuban terrorist, watch over their kidnapped captive, Renee Levoux. Jesus, writing as El Fuego, prepares a letter for her boyfriend David Richaud. It is to be like the one sent to Nell Bellamy after they kidnapped her husband.

Keyes reads the newspaper and the story about the suicide of Cabal who hanged himself with a piece of I V hose. Another story on the front page by Ricky Bloodworth states that Cabal was "guilty as sin" and got what he deserved. The third story he notes is a small one which tells of the kidnapping of Renee LeVoux, a tourist visiting from Canada. Her boyfriend doesn't remember much as he was knocked out by a blow to the back of his head. The last one, the one.....
