Chapter 5

After losing Prudence, Katherine tells Kate that she started to gather other keys from the descendants of other stranded historians. She and Connor created a temporal field around the house using two of the medallions. Anything in the field would be protected from time changing. Over the years Katherine noticed that a name, Prudence Rand, started to appear on documents. Rand is Saul’s last name. Katherine was unsure what sort of message Prudence might be trying to send. Katherine reveals to Kate that Harry’s parents were also historians. She secretly arranged it so Harry and Deborah would meet, hoping they would have a child that was capable of using the medallion.

Kate is upset when she finds out Katherine manipulated both her parents. She thinks they were never supposed to get together, hence why they got divorced. Katherine admits what...
