Davey rides to the canyon carrying all of the letters she has written to Wolf. She knows that she won't see Wolf that day, but she knows that they may see each other again, and that is enough for her. Davey climbs down the canyon, wanting to take in the memory of it and carry it home with her. She describes it as the place she felt "closest" to her father. She sees lizards everywhere and she leaves the package of letters on the rocks she used to bury the remaining items from the night of her father's death.
