Chapters 11-15 Summary

In Chapter 11, Andrew and his family attend the centennial celebration downtown. When Andrew learns that AnnaLise has made a box lunch to be auctioned off later, he plays marbles with Ham and some other kids to make some money. Andrew is shocked to discover that Bennie Esposito has moved to town and even more annoyed when Bennie out bids him for AnnaLise's lunch.

In Chapter 12, Mrs. Mortimer, Ham's grandmother, approaches Andrew and confuses him with his brother Pete. She tells Andrew that Claudia still loves him. Claudia is Ham's older sister, the girl who was supposed to marry Pete one day. After the sheriff takes his mother home, Andrew turns his attention to the free throw contest.
