Chapter 24: Guilt and Regret

Kiera wakes in the hospital and Denny strokes her face, drying her tears and telling her she is okay. Denny admits that he thought he’d killed her. Kiera notices Kellan standing at the door, his arm in a cast and his face a mess of purple and blue bruises. Kellan nods at Denny and leaves. Kiera wants to call him back but instead talks to Denny who admits he wished she’d told him from the start. He’s going back to Australia alone. He leaves and later a light touch on her cheek wakes her. Kellan looks terrible, but his smile is warm. Though he’s decided to stay in Seattle, having taken a lot of crap from Evan for almost leaving without even considering the band, he tells her he needs her to move...
