Chapters 41- 44 Summary

In Chapter 41, the following day begins strangely for Mara as she wakes up starving at four in the morning. Three and a half hours later Mara's brothers find her still sitting at the table. She has a crashing headache and no memory of the last hours. At school, Mara goes to see Dr. Kahn. He tells Mara that there is nothing he can do about the grade. He tells her that Mrs. Morales has reported that Mara cheated on the exam. Mara leaves Dr. Kahn's office infuriated. She wishes to herself that Morales would choke on her own tongue. She even sees the image in her mind. When Mara reaches her Spanish classroom, there is no one there but Jude. When Mara blinks, the body turns into Mabel's owner. She blinks again and sees Morales on the floor. Mara blinks expecting...
