Summary

In Chapter 4, “Severn,” Owen thinks about the situation in Ceredigion as he hurriedly rides toward the castle. The first person Owen encounters is Dominic Mancini. He is head of the Espions, which is a group that spies for the king. Owen tells Mancini that he had a dream about the land of Legault. Mancini says Severn already knows that the man passing himself off as Eyric Argentine, Severn's nephew, is in Legault. Mancini says he would have held off giving Severn that news if he had known Owen was on his way.
