Summary

In Chapter Six: "The Birth of Julian Scaller," Julian woke to find Locke sitting next to him. When Julian tried to ignore Locke, Locke warned him that it was Locke’s money, not goodwill, that was keeping him alive because people did not give goodwill to penniless black men. Regardless, Julian did not really pay attention to Locke until he threatened to stop taking care of January.

Locke asked Julian to tell him the truth about what he knew about doors and different worlds. When Julian was finished, Locke proposed that Julian could look for a door back to Ade while at the same time sending collectible items back to Locke. It was Locke’s idea for January to stay at Locke House with him.
