Jaya

Jaya is a professional blogger and reporter living in modern-day London, England. She has experienced two miscarriages which has led her down a severe depression and taken a massive toll on her relationship. After experiencing a third miscarriage, Jaya’s husband Patrick leaves her. Jaya then experiences strange blackouts whenever she thinks about her relationship or Patrick, especially after Patrick starts seeing Jaya’s friend, Stacey. Jaya finds no real comfort from her mother, Lena, an Indian immigrant, as Lena has always been emotionally distant from Jaya while growing up. When Jaya learns that her mother’s father, Deepak, is dying, she takes a trip to Lena’s childhood home in India despite her mother’s disapproval.
