Chapter 12 Summary

The principal, Mrs. Madison, goes to the library to ask Ms. Lloyd about confiscating the copies of Warren Peece from her class. Mrs. Madison says she's heard students discussing the book and its ending when Ms Lloyd indicated they were only three-quarters of the way through. Ms. Lloyd points out students can't read it in school, but they can read it at home. When Mrs. Madison asks to see the confiscated books, she notices one is missing. When Mrs. Madison points this out to Ms. Lloyd, Ms. Lloyd says that Eddie indicated he left his at home. Mrs. Madison mumbles under breath that Eddie is on their side, which prompts Ms. Lloyd to question if Mrs. Madison is behind the challenge of the book.
