Chapters 1-4 Summary

Chapter 1

Min has been sent by Moiraine Sedai to give the Amyrlin news about the Battle of Falme and Rand's determination to capture the Stone of Tear. Min meets with Siuan Sanche, telling her that Rand is on his way to Tear with Moiraine in pursuit. Min tells Siuan that she wishes to depart for Tear at once, but Siuan has another mission for her. Min is to disguise herself as a young noblewoman visiting the tower and use her ability to look for members of the Black Ajah.

Dain Bornhald leads a group of Whitecloaks into the Two Rivers. With him, much against Dain's will, is the man the Children call Ordeith, who is really Padan Fain.
