Joel Saxon

Joel Saxon is a young student at Armedius, a private school. Joel is a loner not because he cannot make friends, but because his mother is a cleaning woman at the school so he has nothing in common with the often rich and privileged children who attend there. Joel is also obsessed with the Rithmatists, a subject many of the other students find boring.

Joel manages to get himself involved in the investigation into the disappearances of several Rithmatist students from Armedius. Joel proves himself to be quite helpful in this investigation, providing a fresh perspective to the clues. Joel proves to be so good at helping with the investigation that he makes himself a victim of the kidnapper.

In the end, Joel helps to stop the kidnapper. However, Joel also helps the mastermind of the plot to escape. Joel knows that Professor Nalizar is not human...
