Section 3: Chapters 7-9 Summary

In Chapter 7: I Drop a Little Man on his Head, once Sadie uses the spell for destroy which Amos demonstrated earlier in order to open the library doors, Carter rushes to Julius' workbag which sits on a stone table in the center of the room and withdraws wax, a wooden stylus, a palette, ink, twine, an ebony cat statue and a roll of papyrus. Lastly, Sadie retrieves a crudely-made wax figurine without legs. Carter says there is nothing here to explain what happened to Julius or how to get him back, so Sadie tells the wax man to tell them what he knows. She screams and drops the figurine when he becomes warm and tells her "I answer the call" (page 92). The figurine tells her he is a shabti who Julius calls Doughboy, but he refuses to make any...
