Part 2 Summary

November 5, 1991

Charlie wrote about Mary Elizabeth, one of the girls at the party. She was a Zen Buddhist and told Charlie how she was connected to everything - the grass and the dogs - everything in nature. Patrick told Charlie about his relationship with Brad. They had met at a party and there was an immediate strong attraction between them and they started fooling around in the basement. At school, Brad tried to blame the incident on his being drunk. Another party followed where they fooled around with each other and again Brad blamed it on drink. Brad remained remote from Patrick at school and even stopped speaking to him there. At one party during the summer, they had sex after which Brad cried uncontrollably.
