Chapter 14 Summary

Brandi and other reporters call Stacy, but she refuses to answer any questions, and Jeff agrees that she does not have to talk to them. He also tells her not to be afraid, and she does not know how to tell him that she is afraid of him. Mrs. Cooper brings a loaf of bread over, and when Stacy tells her she is about to go to Jan's for dinner, Jeff leaves because he has a lot of homework. Once he is gone, Mrs. Cooper tells Stacy she does not need to worry about the car she kept seeing because it belongs to Jeff. When a reporter calls to ask Stacy if she is scared of testifying and that Jarrod could be paroled in twenty years, she hangs up and ignores the phone, thinking this is a nightmare that will not go away...
