Chapter 12 Summary

Stacy plans to call Tony to ask about Jarrod's friends when she gets home, but she does not get a chance because Jeff arrives shortly after they do. Strangely, Stacy does not want to talk to him about it, but she invites him inside for tea. Donna invites Jeff to stay for dinner, so Stacy does not get a chance to call Tony until Sunday morning when she learns that his family is at the beach for the weekend. Detective Markowitz calls to tell her they received a temporary order to keep Jarrod in jail without bail, and the hearing is set for Tuesday afternoon. He phones again on Monday because the assistant district attorney, Regina Latham, wants to talk to Stacy. Detective Markowitz sends a car to bring Stacy to the courthouse downtown.
