Chapter 5 Summary

Dad worries about her being alone, and Stacy is about to say Mom will be there until she reminds herself that Mom will not. Instead, she says she needs to go to school, but Dad points out she was just finishing seventh grade and is not prepared for eleventh grade, suggesting homeschooling, but Stacy suggests maybe she can make up eighth grade over the summer and start high school in the fall.
