Summary

In Chapter 9, Michael stopped at Merilee’s cottage to check on Lily in person, as Merilee had not asnwered her cell phone. When she realized she had left it at the Blackford’s house Michael said he hoped it was locked with a security code. Merilee said that it was not. Wade, who had been working on the bookshelves, told Michael he did not think Merilee’s phone was in any danger at the Blackford’s.

About the same time, Daniel pulled up to the cottage in his Mercedes. Heather had sent him with Merilee’s phone. While he was there, he looked at Lily’s ankle and told her that it had healed enough and was safe to walk on.
