Summary

Chapter 6

Luke does his morning chores before going to the main house to have breakfast with his mother. Luke is surprised when his mother eats with him because she has been angry with him since he began riding the rodeo circuit again. However, he quickly discovers that his mother is there because she wants him to skip the rodeo that weekend to help with pumpkin sales at the ranch. Luke refuses. Later, Luke finishes the rest of his chores before showering and waiting for Sophia to arrive. Luke and Sophia go horseback riding on the ranch.

Chapter 7

Sophia is surprised by her own forwardness with Luke and blames it on Marcia, who is obsessed with Luke’s looks. Luke does not seem to mind, though. After horseback riding, they sit on Luke’s porch and drink beer while they talk about the ranch...
