Section 14: Chapter 25 Summary

In Chapter 25: Michigan, August, September, 1999, Amelia is already home when Mike gets to the Marshes' house that morning, and though she wants Mike to take her out on his bike, Mr. Marsh covers for him, claiming he needs to work in the health club. By the end of the week, Mike is able to open all eight safes at West Side Recovery, and he practices getting better and faster. He visits Amelia every evening. In the middle of August, the Ghost advises Mike to work with people he trusts, to walk away if it feels wrong and to never carry a gun because he is an artist and can call his own shots because there are not many of them left.
