Section 10: Chapter 19 and 20 Summary

In Chapter 19: Michigan, July 1999, Amelia asks Mike to teach her some sign language so they can communicate, and then they sit on her bed and draw each other sketching one another. At the barbeque, Mike sits on the picnic table with Amelia who warns him not to believe they are the nice, normal family they appear to be. When it is time to say goodnight, Mr. Marsh calls Mike to his office where he hands Mike a leather case of lock picking tools and asks him to show Mr. Slade what he can do with them now. They are impressed when Mike unlocks the back door, and after he proves he can also open a padlock, they think "he" can use Mike. The next morning, Uncle Lito presents Mike with a Yamaha 850 Special, a helmet and a black leather...
