Summary

Linus meets Arthur and Lucy in Chapter 6. They are practicing magic on the porch. Arthur is warm and friendly. Linus notes that he seems younger than 45. Lucy is a trickster and tries to scare Linus with his powers. Linus is shown the guesthouse. He is shocked to see all his luggage neatly unpacked and put away. He later learns that Chauncey did this. Arthur hears music coming from somewhere in the house. It leads him to the kitchen where he spots Ms. Chapelwhite and Lucy preparing dinner while singing and dancing. They have a feast in Linus’ honor. Everything goes smoothly until the children start teasing Linus about being round and having a pet cat instead of a wife. At one point, Sal asks if Linus is here to separate them. The children seem terrified at this prospect. Arthur reassures them.
