Summary

In Chapter 5, “In Which a Swamp Monster Accidentally Falls in Love,” Glerk—a swamp monster and friend of Xan—does not approve of Xan bringing Luna home, but Fyrian—a small and friendly dragonling—is overjoyed. Soon, everyone, even Glerk, falls in love with baby Luna. Luna drinks the moonlight almost every night, and her magic grows with each passing year. This makes Xan and Glerk very nervous because Luna is too young to have any control over the magic inside of her. The little Fyrian must stay away from the baby at first because Xan fears that either one of them may accidentally hurt the other.
