Summary

Chapter 7 starts with Ellie and Melvin on the school bus on their way home after school. Melvin is complaining about middle school in general and the science curriculum in particular. The books don't mention his name and they don't talk about Sagarsky. Raj, the goth kid, overhears the conversation and responds that Sagarsky probably isn't mentioned because he's a quack, according to his science teacher. Raj and Ellie introduce themselves to each other and say goodbye to each other when Melvin and Ellie get off the bus. Melvin does not approve of the exchange.

Later that night, Lissa announces that she's cast the leads for the next play she's directing, Our Town. She proposes that they order takeout to celebrate. Melvin only wants Chinese, even though Lissa tries to convince him to try something different as he always wants Chinese. She gives in...
