As soon as the stasis field is turned off it is clear from the cooled lava that still glows red in certain places that there are no other living beings on the planet. The nineteen survivors immediately board the twelve-passenger fighter, turn on the life support systems, and get out of their fighting suits. They are able to breathe relatively fresh air for the first time since the beginning of the Tauran attack and even take showers. While waiting for the other fighter to return, Mandella's final order as commander is that there will be no more military action until they get back to Stargate. Mandella thoroughly enjoys being a peer among peers and they all spend time playing games and discussing what it will be like when they return to their society after the 700 years of time dilation.
