Sergeant Mandella, 2007-2024 A.D., Chapter 6-7 Summary

After the collapsar jump, it is still a ten-month journey back to Stargate. It takes Marygay approximately six weeks to completely recover from her near-fatal injuries. After the recovery, she is once again a fully-functional member of the crew, participating in what most consider pointless exercises. They are required to continue the strict formal army code of discipline. Mandella thinks it is because they will not be allowed to leave the armed forces. Marygay assures him that it is simply the only way they can maintain organization and stability in a crew that will be cooped up for almost another year. By the time reach Stargate, it has been seventeen years since they left, and the base has truly come into its own as headquarters of the war in size, population, weaponry, and ships. Shortly after their arrival, they are escorted to a briefing with the resident general.
