Summary

Chapter 7

This chapter takes place four days after Chapter 6. Amy Penn has finished editing the tapes she’s made and the film she’s shot while in Coldwater. The short film ‘teaser’ is broadcast. The first person on the edited film is Katherine talking about her miracle. The next person interviewed is a Catholic priest, Father Carroll, who urges caution, stating that such matters should be left to higher authorities. Pastor Warren turns off the television, a feeling of dread filling him.

Maybe, thinks Warren, that not too many people in town actually saw the news feed. Amy had tried many times to have Warren say something on camera but he’d declined, deferring to Father Carroll who made a statement that all of the church leaders agreed with.
