Chapter 40

Nynaeve allows Galad to approach her. As they are talking, Nynaeve finally remembers the name of the town she saw on the piece of paper in the White Tower. Salidar. After Galad promises that he will not turn them in, Nynaeve tells him that she and Elayne intend to escape Amadicia by boat. He tells her that he cannot accompany her but offers to find her a boat. While escorting her back to the menagerie, Uno tells Nynaeve that he has fifteen Shienarans under his command, none of them eager to remain with Masema. He offers her an armed escort wherever she goes. She tells him to keep the Shienarans close to the menagerie and be ready to move at a moment's notice. Nynaeve tells Elayne about Salidar and her deals with the Prophet and Galad.
