Chapters 4-7 Summary

Chapter 4

Rand had given Aviendha a bracelet made of ivory, to thank her for being his advisor. The Maidens of the Spear believed it to be a courting gift, and Aviendha is shamed by their assumption. She gives Rand a dragon belt buckle just to even the score. They are interrupted by the Darkfriend Isendre, who has been made a servant by the Maidens. Aviendha chases the women from Rand's room, believing that she came up there to try to get into his bed.

Chapter 5

Egwene, Aviendha, and Moiraine meet with Aiel Wise Ones in their sweat tent. Moiraine tries to persuade the Wise Ones into talking Rand out of his plan to take the Aiel over the Dragonwall and seize Cairhein. They refuse. After Moiraine leaves, the Wise Ones command Aviendha to begin sleeping in the same room with Rand...
