Summary

In “Today, 1:01 p.m.,” Kate takes her pistol out of its locked box and thinks about Dexter’s manipulation of her after she had once considered him not capable of manipulation. She thinks about Bill and Julia, who are pretending to be enemies. She hides the gun in her purse. Then, she makes a call from her extra cell phone. She calls Hayden and he agrees to meet her at 5 p.m.

In Chapter 24, Kate realized that Julia was able to track her because she planted a device in her car the day she claimed to have left her phone in it. Kate realized how easy her family was to follow since they took subways and never took taxis.
