Summary

“Today, 12:02 p.m.” begins Part 2 of the book. Kate pulls Dexter’s yearbook off a shelf to look for a photo. She knows the last name ends with “owski” and it does not take long for her to find. The senior photo she finds in the book changes everything. She feels betrayed.

At the beginning of Chapter 13, Kate was annoyed with everyone, including herself. Her husband was not driving fast enough. Her children were complaining about their portable DVD player, and she was annoyed with herself for being so reckless when she sneaked into Bill’s office. The family was headed to Germany for a short vacation. During the vacation, Kate’s mind wandered about Bill and Julia’s purpose.
