Chapter 26 Summary

Harry wakes up alone in Sylvia's bed, and when the phone rings, he tenses thinking it might be for him, but Sylvia doesn't appear so he relaxes again. He can hear her talking and thinks he hears her crying, so he gets up. He finds her still on the phone in the kitchen, and when she gets off, she tells him tearfully that one of her students has been killed in a drive by shooting. Harry can see how upset she is. They spend the day around the house, just puttering, and Sylvia offers that she might take her entire class by bus to the funeral. She decides to take a nap while Harry makes some calls, and when he looks in on her at four, she is sleeping, the pillow still wet from her tears. Later, a reporter calls Sylvia to get...
