Chapter 22 Summary

Belk is unimpressed when he sees Bosch, rumpled and wearing the same clothing he wore the day before. He chastises Bosch before returning to the notes he is making for his closing. Bosch goes outside for a quick smoke, and Chandler is also there. He tells her that he wants the note she was sent. The look on her face confirms his theory, and he tells her she's withholding evidence and if necessary he'll get a warrant. She recovers quickly, telling Bosch that a judge would never grant a warrant to search her home under the circumstances, and Bosch smiles and thanks her for telling him where it is. She is rattled, and he tells her that he also knows about her meetings with Edgar. It accomplishes what he hoped for, which was to confirm the note's existence and possibly even throw her...
