Chapter 7 Summary

Bosch shows up to help man the phones as he promised, in the hopes they can identify the blond victim. He puts a quick call in to Sylvia to tell her where he is, and admits he might not make it to her place at all if they get a lead. She is less understanding than he thought she'd be and reminds him that they've had this conversation before. The story begins on the news, and Harry tells her he has to open the line to outside calls and Sylvia coldly says goodbye. The airplay is good, and the phones begin ringing almost right away. Some callers are jerks claiming it is "your mother" or similar comments, but a few callers claim to recognize her. More than one caller claims she is a porn star they've seen on film, and one calls her...
