Summary

In Chapter 29, Kylie has not slept since she managed to reach the wrench. She goes over her plan. The person who comes downstairs always has a gun. She plans to hit them over the head with the wrench and take the gun. If that person has the key to her handcuffs, she plans to use it to escape. If not, she plans to hold the gun on the person and demand they call for the key. She plans to promise not to tell anyone where she was hidden for a full day, giving them time to leave the country. Kylie is shaking so hard she compares her movements to convulsions, but she reminds herself that courage runs in the family. Her mother survived cancer, her grandmother had to fight for her position at NYU, and her great-grandmother led her family out of Belarus...
