Chapter 4 Summary

Qwill retrieves Mrs. Cobb from the airport, and they catch up on gossip from Down Below and discuss Pickax. Mrs. Cobb is so delighted with the house and amazed by the antiques that she immediately decides that she wants the job, regardless of what it pays. While she rests, Qwill writes to Riker, inviting him to visit for a week, but he is disturbed by Mrs. Cobb's cries of alarm that people are stealing from the garage. Qwill explains that the interior designers are cleaning out the junk, but Mrs. Cobb recognizes valuable pieces of Americana which Qwill prevents from being taken.
