Summary

Chapter 22 marks the start of February. Susan went through her mother’s medical notes with Kate. Her mother had two previous strokes before she died. Susan had gone back to see her when the second one had happened, but she had left before she was discharged because she had work to do and a concert to attend with Richard. But shortly after, her mother had been diagnosed with vascular dementia. Edward had been named her caregiver. Susan was upset that her mother had kept the secret, but even more furious that Edward had lied to her and seemingly manipulated their mother. The vicar called her and told her that he wanted her to come down to Birmingham so he could tell her what her mother had told him.
